Tornabuoni Arte Gallery in Florence

The Tornabuoni Arte Gallery was born in 1981 in Florence, thanks to Roberto Casamonti's passion for art. Passion born from a father who was a collector of the art of his time, today the Italian twentieth century. Over the years, the gallery inaugurated exhibition venues in Milan (1995), Portofino (2001), Forte dei Marmi (2004). The increasingly active research aimed at international collecting led the founder to also open two galleries abroad, in Crans Montana in Switzerland and in Paris in 2009.

The exhibition activity in the various locations develops in organizing an annual collection each year with the aim of presenting a selection of international avant-garde artists of the 20th century (Picasso, Miró, Kandinsky, Hartung, Poliakoff, Dubuffet, Lam, Matta , Christo, Wesselmann, Warhol, Basquiat) together with the main historicized artists of Italian reality.

Artists of the Italian twentieth century are highlighted such as De Chirico, Morandi, Balla, Severini, Sironi, together with the most representative artists of the second half of the Italian twentieth century such as Manzoni, Fontana, Burri, Dorazio, Marini, Boetti, Ceroli, Pomodoro. During the annual itinerant exhibition, personal exhibitions of historicized and emerging artists are held in the various galleries, or themed exhibitions focusing the exhibition research on the avant-garde of the post-World War II period.

Personal exhibitions have been held by Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana, Alighiero Boetti, Mario Ceroli, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Enrico Castellani, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Dadamaino and on themes such as Monochrome sous tension, Tout feu tout flamme, Bianco Italia.

Today Roberto Casamonti together with his children Ursula and Michele continue their research assiduously, always giving new ideas on the new avant-gardes (Pablo Atchugarry, Luigi Carboni, Serafino Maiorano, Francesca Pasquali, Cristiano Pintaldi, Gioacchino Pontrelli) paying particular attention to historical research.

The gallery is present annually in the major contemporary art fairs such as the FIAC and the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris, Tefaf in Maastricht, Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Basel Hong Kong, Frieze Masters in London, Arte Fiera in Bologna, Miart in Milan .

Collaboration with museums and foundations is constant and consulting activities are carried out for private collections and public bodies.
